Testimonials
Dr. Deb Semmelroth
“It was such a beautiful weekend- connecting with caring and compassionate folks, all desiring to serve in a trauma conscious way.
Thank you to all who nourished our nervous system through; yoga, education of the impact of trauma, boundaries, inclusivity, gentle music representation of many spiritual paths, and so much more… so much gratitude for the gathering of community and the delivery and creation of an excellent curriculum!!! Beautiful!!! Thank you!🙏💙
It was truly a retreat… being fully immersed in collective healing. Maybe speaking for many out of turn but nonetheless rich teachings… absorbing like a sponge :)
Thank you!”
Jes-Wa’ Harris
“AMAZING experience. AMAZING space. AMAZING people. Just AMAZING!!!
I participated in the weekend retreat for a Trauma Conscious Certificate. I was expecting to do a deep dive into the trauma I have experienced and the trauma that I have carried from working with youth and families in my community for over 25 years. I was vulnerable, but expectant of the emotions and thoughts that were to come as a result in participating in this type of retreat. I was not disappointed as many emotions were exposed, many experiences were shared, and my thoughts were challenged, mostly by myself.
I left the retreat with a desire to continue my growth, to heal my wounds, and to release myself from the weight of the traumas that have accompanied my physical and spiritual forms. As a male, person of color, I had to shed the generalizations and expectations of being who I am to truly engulf myself in the experience.
I was treated with dignity and class and respect. I am thankful to all who participated.”
Gabby Proefock
“Thank you so much Kyle for everything.
Your studio holds such a special place in my heart.
It has been a place that I have healed and cried and gave me a place to feel safe to just be nurtured and loved by the universe and even myself.
Thank you for your kind words and wise teachings.
I will take them with me always and hold them close to my heart.
I am so grateful for my time in such a sacred place and to be connected with such beautiful souls.”
Jenny C. (PAVSA Yoga Participant)
“As a trauma survivor, I have experienced a sense of separation from myself and the world.
I felt like I no longer belonged here.
Since practicing yoga, I have been able to reconnect with myself, build my self-confidence, and begin to find my center.
Yoga saved my life!”
Deborah Marcero
“Your approach to leading yoga practice is the most soothing, affirming, and beautiful I've ever participated in.
That is such a gift to me and everyone else in the group.”

Prepare Before & After Your Weekend Training
In-depth training weekends are immersive and often intense. We’ll be together for long days filled with deep learning and personal growth. It’s important to care for yourself before, during, and after each weekend.
General Preparation Tips
Get plenty of rest leading up to and following the training weekend
Nourish yourself with food, water, and movement
Organize your materials in advance so you can arrive feeling grounded
Make space for quiet time if possible
Allow time for post-weekend integration (ex. time off work, space for reflection)
Trauma-Focused Training: What to Expect
This program dives deeply into trauma. This means:
We will study complex and layered topics that may be emotionally triggering
You may become aware of past trauma you hadn’t previously identified
Emotional or somatic reactions (like body sensations or emotional release) can occur
Please take time for an honest self-assessment:
Are you in a place in your healing journey where this work feels supportive?
Do you have the capacity to engage with potentially intense material?
If you're unsure, we welcome conversation. Reach out—we’re here to help you discern.
Self-Care and Support During the Weekend
We intentionally create space within the training to:
Pause and tend to your nervous system
Step away for a break if needed
Practice tools for regulation and self-care as you learn them
What Past Participants Have Found Helpful
Scheduling therapy, coaching, or bodywork (before and/or after the weekend)
Taking a day off work after training to allow for reflection
