Join guest teacher, Elisabeth Pletcher, for a 90 minute workshop focusing on yoga basics, pose adaptations & transitions; suitable for people in bodies of all shapes, sizes and experience levels.  Together we will share how to move into the  practice of yoga in a body-positive, safe supported community, sharing in breathwork, body affirming meditation and movement.

During this workshop you will:

  • Explore yoga poses that work for your body

  • Find ways to use props to assist in your practice.

  • Show your body the love it deserves in a welcoming, fun, low key environment.

  • Note: Please wear clothes you feel comfortable moving in & bring a water bottle.

Curvy Loving-Kindness Meditation

May you greet your body with gentleness.
May you soften when life invites you to harden.
May you listen to your intuition with wisdom and trust it with ease.
May you appreciate your body a little more in this moment, just as it is.

Curvy Yoga Practice

What I’ve learned over the years is that yoga and body acceptance come together through practice. Together, they create an experience we call Curvy Yoga Practice — a highly individualized process for you to bring both yoga and body acceptance into your life in regular, doable ways.

Yoga has its ooohhhh and aaahhh moments with some of its poses, and that can definitely be fun. But the deeper power of the practice comes from how it asks you to be in an ongoing, evolving conversation with your body on a regular basis (and in the meantime feel less stressed and improve mobility!).

Curvy Yoga Practice starts on your yoga mat because yoga isn’t part of a “fix yourself” paradigm but rather a “know yourself” paradigm. And then it journeys with you off your yoga mat because the same is true of body acceptance. While you may experience fleeting moments of epiphany or joyous love for your body, the day-to-day experience of body acceptance is much quieter than that — and ultimately more powerful because it becomes part of your everyday life.

*A message from Curvy Yoga founder Anna Guest-Jelley. Anna founded Curvy Yoga in 2010 because she figured she couldn’t possibly be the only person on Earth who wanted to practice yoga in an accessible and enjoyable way in a curvy body, which turned out to be quite the understatement. Anna lives in the Pacific Northwest and, yes, she likes all the rain. She loves exploring the area with her husband, daughter, and pup
