Pillar II: Sustainability & Nature Study
Grounded in the Earth. Rooted in Place.
In this pillar, we shift our focus from the internal landscape to our relationship with the world around us. We believe that for Yoga to be truly healing, it must be sustainable—not just for our physical bodies, but for the Earth that supports us.
We explore how the rhythm of the seasons and the vitality of the Northwoods can inform and deepen our practice.
Core Areas of Study:
Intentional Nature Study: Grounding our practice in the local ecosystem. We utilize guided nature study to explore our profound relationship with the Earth and how environmental cycles mirror our own internal shifts.
Embodied Herbalism: Curated forest walks and introductory herbal studies designed to help you embody your Yoga practice in the place we live. We learn to support our vitality using the seasonal wisdom of the plants that grow right here on the Northshore.
Sustainability as Healing: Exploring the intersections of wellness and ecology. We discuss how to cultivate a practice that prevents burnout and fosters long-term resilience for both the teacher and the student.
Mentorship & Feedback: Dedicated practice opportunities with personalized mentorship. You will receive constructive feedback to help you refine your voice and ensure your teaching style is sustainable, authentic, and effective.
