Syrup
Oxymel
Remedy for the Respiratory System
Welcome sweet Autumn as we gather together and collect berries for the last workshop of the season! We will cook Elderberries, make a syrup, learn options to either spice it up (think Cinnamon and Clove) or make an oxymel with an herbal vinegar and honey. Each is potent to the pallet and supports good health. It’s also time to think about the respiratory system. We will decant a tincture made for clearing the lungs and fill our senses with aromatic oils made naturally to be refreshing, clearing and relaxing. We will drink tea and discuss our ails going into the Winter season.
In each session, we’ll engage in hands-on experiences - harvesting what’s seasonally available and preparing medicinal teas, tinctures, remedies and herbs from the plants we gather, which participants will take home with them.
Immerse yourself in plants. Approach earth-based cycles and abundance with practical methods and hands-on experiences with the plants that grow in the Northland, in real time. We will walk the fields and gardens, use our senses to understand and touch and feel the medicine that grows with us. Feel confident getting some wild back in your life. Recall our relationship with earth, cycles, elements and plants. Tend to the urge to feed yourself from the source.
Wear weather-appropriate clothing, as the class will be held entirely outdoors in the gardens and surrounding land. Full details, including the address, will be sent upon registration.
