Recovery Community Yoga

“Transformation isn’t sweet and bright. It’s a dark and murky, painful pushing.
An unraveling of the truths you’ve carried in your body.
A practice in facing your own created demons.
A complete uprooting before becoming.”

— Victoria Erickson

“Our studies show that yoga is equally as beneficial—or more beneficial—than the best possible medications in alleviating traumatic stress symptoms. In the studies we did involving neuroimaging of the brain before and after regular yoga practice, we were able to show that the areas of the brain involving self-awareness get activated by doing yoga, and those are the areas that get locked out by trauma and that are needed in order to heal it.”

Through the Recovery Community you have access to unlimited yoga (in-person or virtually) 7 days a week.

We welcome you to our studio and to your access to unlimited regular classes with us sponsored by Recovery Alliance Duluth. We are so excited to welcome you to our community and we hope you'll be able to take advantage of all the wonderful offerings we have.

In order for us to set you up, we just need you to set-up an account in our software system https://app.svalja.yoga/student/account

Once you have your account set up, email us at hello@svalja.yoga and we will set you up with unlimited access to regular classes. If you already have an account set-up with us, I will immediately add your unlimited access.

Then, you can login to your account via that same link or through our schedule and register to attend any regular class (this precludes special events and workshops/training). It's great if you register in advance. You also have access to all of our classes virtually if that's more accessible for you at home.

“Each of us go through ‘terrible damages’ — a divorce, a heartache, a breaking, a clinging depression, an exile, a financial ruin, a lingering disease, a loss of a loved one, a death, a loss of dignity, a violation. May it be that despite such terrible damage, the tree of our life does not die. May it be that there is a vitality in our roots, and that the charred tree of our experiences gives birth to a hundred new blooms dancing around us, newer versions of ourselves that leap to life from what we would have deemed to be our death.” —Omid Safi
